Friday, June 30, 2006- Tarkington firefighters were awakened early, responding to a brush fire on CR2224 (Joe Edd Road) at app. 1:15. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Booster 55 with Unit 501 and one firefighter to find a small fire along the ditch, possibly started by a cigarette.
At app. 13:30, TVFD was dispatched to a grass fire on CR2305S. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with Unit 502 and one firefighter and Tanker 57 with one firefighter to find Cypress Lakes VFD already on location and the fire nearly out.
Wednesday, June 28th- At app. 10:30, TVFD was dispatched to a MVA on CR301N. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with Unit 501 and one firefighter and Booster 55 with Unit 502 to find a small station wagon had ran into the ditch.
At app. 11:10, TVFD was dispatched to report of a male having chest pains on FM2518. Engine 54 with Unit 501 and one firefighter responded from the earlier accident scene.
Tuesday, June 27th- At app. 16:40, Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a report of a fire at The Landing Restaurant on SH105 at Cypress Lakes. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with Unit 502 and one firefighter on board, Tanker 57 with Unit 505 and one firefighter on board, and Engine 53 with two firefighters to find that the call was a false alarm.
At app. 22:35, TVFD was dispatched to assist a fall victim on CR2184. TVFD responded with Unit 504, Unit 508, and Booster 55 with Unit 502 and one firefighter on board.
Sunday, June 25th- At app. 14:35, Tarkington firefighters were called to a MVA on FM163 app. two miles south of FM2518. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Booster 55 with two firefighters to find a gray Saturn and rolled over in the ditch.
At app. 18:20, TVFD responded to another MVA, this one on FM787 at Rayburn. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Engine 54 with Unit 504 and two firefighters, and Booster 55 with one firefighter to find a Toyota pickup and Dodge pickup involved in a head-on collision with one fatality. Another victim's injuries were severe enough to require transport by helicopter, so Cleveland VFD was dispatched for mutual aid to assist in setting up the LZ.
