Firefighter Edwards is an 11 year veteran of the fire service, having been with the La Porte Fire Department during that time and serving as a Lieutenant for two years and a Captain for three. He joined TVFD in 2006.

He is a certified EMT-B, Haz-Mat Technician, and has training in confined space and high angle rescue. He is a State Firemen's and Fire Marshal's Association Intermediate Certified Firefighter and is a TEEX Industrial instructor at Texas A&M.
