Monday, January 16th- At app. 10:20, TVFD was dispatched to a report of fire alarms going off at the new Tarkington High School. TVFD responded with Engine 54 with three firefighters to find that the alarms were being tested.
At app. 20:05, TVFD was dispatched to a report of a tree across the road on CR2274. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters and Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 20:40, Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a report of a structure fire caused by a lightning strike and subsequent stove explosion on FM163 app. 1/2 mile south of FM2518. TVFD responded with Engine 53 with three firefighters, Rescue 51 with two firefighters, and Engine 54 with four firefighters to find the stove and wall behind on fire. Quick action by the TVFD confined damage to the stove and wall.
Sunday, January 15th- Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a report of a 44 year-old female cancer patient having difficulty breathing on CR3016 at app. 8:05. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters. Upon arrival of City of Cleveland EMS, the decision was made to transport the patient to a trauma center via helicopter, so a LZ was setup in the Tarkington High School parking lot, using Engine 53 with three firefighters as well as Rescue 51.
At app. 21:15, TVFD was dispatched to a report of a burn ban violation on CR2235. TVFD responded with Unit 502 and Booster 55 with two firefighters to find a small trash fire burning.
Saturday, January 14th- Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a possible structure fire on CR2274 at app. 1:30 Saturday morning. TVFD responded with Unit 501 to find Liberty County Sheriff's Deputies on location with a bonfire burning. The fire was extinguished by those present.
At app. 20:15, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a report of a fall victim on CR2184. No ambulances were available as all City of Cleveland EMS and Liberty County EMS ambulances were out on other calls. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Rescue 51 with two firefighters, providing patient care until the arrival of an ambulance.
Thursday, January 12th- Tarkington firefighters started the day early when they were dispatched to a MVA at app. 5:50 at SH321 and FM1008. TVFD responded with Unit 501, Unit 503, Engine 54 with four firefighters, and Rescue 51 with one firefighter to find a Dodge pickup overturned in the ditch and a Jeep Wrangler with front-end damage in the road.
Tuesday, January 10th- At app. 5:00, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a report of a five year-old female having seizures on SH321 near CR2274. Tarkington VFD responded with Unit 510 and Rescue 51 with one firefighter.
Monday, January 9th- At app. 13:20, Tarkington firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire on CR308. TVFD responded with Unit 503 and Booster 55 with two firefighters to find the fire had spread to the porch. Quick action by the TVFD stopped the fire from spreading to the rest of the home.
Sunday, January 8th- At app. 12:15, TVFD was dispatched to a burn ban violation on CR226. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Booster 55 with two firefighters.
Saturday, January 7th- At app. 10:15, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a CPR-in-progress on CR315. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters to find City of Cleveland EMS already on location. TVFD assisted in loading the patient for transport.
At app. 12:55, Tarkington First Responders were dispatched to a call on FM787. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with one firefighter, assisting City of Cleveland EMS in loading the patient.
At app. 13:45, TVFD was dispatched to a brush fire on CR3018. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters.
At app. 14:20, Tarkington First Responders were called to a report of five year-old that had been thrown from a horse. TVFD responded with Rescue 51 with two firefighters.
At app. 14:25, Tarkington VFD was dispatched to a forest fire near Palmer Lake. TVFD responded with Booster 55 with two firefighters, Tanker 57 with two firefighters, Booster 52 with two firefighter to find a very large fire that was difficult to locate in the heavy timber. North Liberty County VFD was called for mutual aid and the Texas Forest Service was called to plow a containment line around the fire. Booster 52 remained on location until after 18:00.
At app. 18:35, TVFD was dispatched to a burn ban violation on CR226. TVFD responded with Unit 501 and Booster 55 with two firefighters.
